  As the story goes, the gyro was originally designed for astronauts to re-create the feeling of weightlessness. It also is one heck of a total body workout. Somewhere along the line somebody figured out Hey, this things a blast, and hence, an amusement attraction was born. 360 degrees of total topsy turvey enjoyment.
